Fran Storey is a House Manager that works at Nora's House. Residents love when she bakes a sweet thing for our sweet people.
2 sticks butter
3 oz cream cheese
2 oz Crisco butter flavor
3 c sugar (or sugar substitute)
5 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp almond extract (or other flavor)
1 tsp butter flavor (optional)
3 c cake flour
1/2 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1 c Milk
Instructions:
1) Cream 1st three ingredients (butter, Cristco, cream cheese)
2) Add sugar, beat until smooth
3) Add eggs one at a time, beat well
4) Add flavoring (almond, butter [optional])
5) Add cake flour (sifted), baking powder, salt, alternating with milk (you can sift the baking powder, flour, and salt together)
6) Grease pan
7) Bake at 350 for 1 hour
8) Bake at 325 for 15 minutes
9) Wrap in Saran Wrap while still warm to keep cake moist
If you don’t like almond I sometimes make lemon, leave out the almond and use lemon curd instead...just stir it in and it leaves chunks of lemony deliciousness
